This is a sword from the Sassanid Empire. The sword was made by iron and gold, which means that their economy was developed compare to other empires. It was used around the late Sasanian period. During the reign of Ardashir I, he focused on the resurrection strategy that had been used in the Achaemenid Empire. This statue is called Head of a king. It was found in Iran, during the Sasanian period (4th century). The statue has dimensions of 40 x 22.9 x 20 cm. The sculpture is a piece of art that was made up of iron and also silver. This statue is an example of the Sasanian metalwork.
