This map shows the Precipitation and Rainfall of the region of the Sassanid Empire. The major crops of the Empire were wheat, barley. Wheat needs a small amount of rainfall to grow, from 62.54 to 87 cm. Also, barley requires 3.9 – 4.3 cm of rainfall. Therefore, this area with the amount of rainfall from 0 – 100 cm rainfall fits for the crops’ requirements.

 

This map shows the Surface Air Temperature – Summer of the area of the Sassanid Empire. For crop like wheat, it grows when the temperature is warm, from 70° to 75° F, which is perfect because a large amount of area has the temperature of 72° to 85°F (red area).

Since agriculture was important for the Sassanid Empire because of the products like wheat and barley, drought is important in the productions of crops. According to the map there is no drought hot spots in the area of the Sassanid Empire. Hence, the productions of the Empire was not interrupted by natural disaster.
